Street Lights

Madurai Corporation maintains a total of 25,398 street lights, including tube lights, sodium vapor lights, and other types, distributed across various zones. There are 1,199 service connections obtained from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to power these lights. The total electrical load for street lighting is 2,208 kilowatts, with the load distribution detailed zone-wise. Additionally, the monthly electrical consumption charges for street lighting amount to ₹24.34 lakhs, with a zone-wise breakdown of these charges also available.
